The Finance and Logistics committee is the backbone of Medical Aid Initiative and provides funding for all events and everyday necessities. As a member of the committee, take part in and come up with new, exciting ways to fundraise and coordinate with other members and committees to help plan and fund events, including parties, outreach, and club socials. Additionally, gain experience in applying for grants, planning and hosting fundraisers, and attending grant hearings.
The External Relations deals with all affairs regarding our organization and any other entities we decide to collaborate with, and the entities we present ourselves to. This committee presents to various organizations to showcase what our club is, our goals, missions, and all that we have accomplished. Furthermore, we will be showing these organizations what role we play in the realm of sustainability in the health sector, as well as awareness on behalf of those we present to of environmental issues.
Just as MAI values our mission statement and the effect that our donation work has for underprivileged areas lacking proper medical supplies and equipment, we also place large emphasis in providing awareness to others of our contributions and becoming a tightly knit team. This committee specializes in allowing for the greater public to recognize our accomplishments by keeping updated our website, and informing potential and current members as well as volunteers of MAI events and donation mission trips on different platforms of media. As we must perform effectively as a team before we can efficiently run the organization, we truly value socials and team bonding time which this committee is responsible for organizing and planning.
The Trip Donations and Outreach Committee acts as the liaison between our organization and the UCLA affiliated organizations that we donate medical supplies to. Members of this committee will directly communicate with the leaders of these organization to process donation requests and coordinate pick-up details. They will also collaborate with the Warehouse Committee to allocate the tasks of sorting and packaging medical donations, in order for the organizations to receive them on time for their medical mission trips.
As a member of the Warehouse Committee, you will have greater responsibility over managing the warehouse and our inventory. This entails improving and reorganizing the inventory (both online and in person) to facilitate more efficiency in sorting and donating medical supplies. Not only will you be part of the core of MAI, you will gain important insight of our organization and become more familiar with medical supplies and the “behind the scenes” of healthcare.
