MAI has taught me the importance of promoting awareness on sustainability in the medical field. The amazing members of MAI always put in their best effort to make an impactful change on the global scale. Their productive mentality and burning passion to serve the community has influenced me to work towards our common goal.

What made you join MAI and how long have you been in MAI?
What attracted me to MAI in my sophomore year was it’s unique mission and approach. So many health and medical programs aim to improve the health of others, but the topic of medical waste is understudied and often overlooked.​
What has been your favorite part of MAI?
My favorite part of MAI is working alongside passionate individuals. Everyone in MAI plays an important role in sustaining our mission to better reduce medical waste.​

What has been the most rewarding part so far?
The most rewarding part of MAI is seeing our hard work come into fruition. Our members dedicate hours on end to keep our operations running efficiently so that our partner organizations can gain access to invaluable medical supplies that would have been disposed of otherwise. It is such an amazing experience being able to work with so many programs within our student body that also extend the missions of health and wellbeing beyond our local community.
What is your ultimate career goal or plans?
My career plan is to work in the medical field while focusing on improving methods of patient-provider communication and developing approaches to overcome barriers to accessing adequate care.
Do you pour cereal before milk or milk before the cereal? Is a hotdog a sandwich?
Cereal before, always.

If I were to choose a different career, it would definitely be to open up a cafe or a boutique restaurant. I love trying out new food places, so owning and operating a brick-and-mortar with some friends sounds like a great plan.
Favorite TV Show? And a Netflix recommendation if you have one
Parks and Recreation and New Girl are tied for my favorite TV shows. I would definitely recommend them if you’re looking for some light-hearted comedy.
